Ratchet Friday: Splitting the Bill: Circle of friends edition

Happy Ratchet Friday,

Last week we discussed, splitting the bill with a large group. Today we will take a look into how to properly split a bill between a smaller, but, closer circle of friends.

Unlike the large group,  everyone within this group should know one another and their behaviors. The goal is to have a good time with the people around you.  More than often when it's a small group it's usually a celebration for one of the friends.  Let's take a look at the circle of friends etiquette for bill splitting.

1) Research
I just want to reiterate the importance of knowing where you are going and preparing for that event. Do your research and make sure tour have $.

2) Nice Gesture
More than likely the group will want to pay for the person who is celebrating an accomplishment. The group of friends should discuss this privately beforehand, to make sure that everyone is on the same page.  A quick "hey, we are going to knock out thotiesha's part of the bill at dinner".

3) Pre Fix
The good thing about New York City Brunches is, they offer prefix menus so everyone can order in the same price range,  try to go to places that offer this, it makes bill split calculations much easier. " Prefix today, keeps confusion away ".

4) Let's not make a scene
Disagreements should be personal,  the whole restaurant shouldn't know about how much extra you put in the last time everyone went out. Any grievances should have been taken up in the group chat or private conversation,  do not air out dirty laundry in public.

5) The Escape
OK, so you only want to take part in one area of the activity?  Plan your escape,  inform the person who you are celebrating with, you must leave early. Go through the evening and do the activity that you chose to do. You will automatically get a separate bill if you leave before the group. Knock out ya bill plus your portion of the person's celebration and run out of there never looking back.

You're welcome

Endito
