WO: Memorial Day weekend, Henny Palooza edition

Memorial Day weekend review of social events. Covering Henny Palooza and Club Aura.

Event: Henny Palooza
Venue: 272 Meserole St, Brooklyn, NY, 11206
ERS: 9.7

The concept: $50 unlimited Henny is just remarkable,  you eliminate bottle service (which I believe ruins the joy of the party) and everyone has an opportunity to get to the level of inebriation they desire. The food truck was quick and tasty, I enjoyed the pull pork slider and others seemed to enjoy the fries that were served.  Food and drinks were on point.

The two knocks I had on this event were the entrance and the bar. With sold out tickets it shouldn't take so long for people to enter the venue. With tickets purchased online, they should have had a scanner for the bar codes on the ticket.  The process of looking up names takes too long and was an  annoying factor to this event. At one point it took me 40 minutes to get a drink at the bar. That in it's self is self explanatory,  (Since I don't like bringing up issues with out giving a solution ) In the future,  they should have a line for shots, one person manage a prepoured line of Henny Shots. The bartenders should just stick to making the mixed drinks,  the wait to get a simple shot was too long.

Alright, the fun things:
The set up was nice,  inside and outside bar. a food truck, tables to eat and drink,  a stage with a DJ, and dance floor with overhead covering. The promoters were going around giving women shots of Henny via water gun.

This event was mixxy, a bunch of business cards were handed out, a lot of promo in general. A large amount of attractive people having a good time. All in all, just a large backyard party.  I really enjoyed this event, I recommend for people to experience this.

DRUNK TANK:
Let's learn to pace ourselves while drinking, some newbie took on a little more than he could handle and ended up in the medical tent before 5pm.

Let's be responsible adults, know your limit, don't be that friend that everyone has to worry about.
For example:

See that drink combination in my right hand?

It's called pacing yourself, a few shots in my system, a mixed drink and some water to even out the solution. Drink responsibly my friends.

What happened at "The Well"stays there, If you want more details on the happenings,  attend next year. Or search the hashtag #HennyPalooza on your social media accounts especially Instagram and Twitter.

Event:  Memorial Weekend Dance
Venue: Club Aura 4410 Ave H, Brooklyn, NY, 11234
ERS: 7.5

Finally, some caribbean music. If you know me you know I enjoy a vast amount of musical categories, but; dancehall/reggae is my favorite genre.  This was a true dancehall environment,  hot and humid with people drinking and dancing. Strong drinks and good people.  I was pleasantly surprised by the venue.  I have passed the place numerous times, Unfortunately;  never ventured into the club. I will definitely visit this place again over the summer.
